ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT AND ITS AFFECTS ON THE PARANORMAL

PURCHASE  THE SITC PARANORMAL ALMANAC
MY THEORY : Theory 1. The soul is comprised of electromagnet radiation. Theory 2. Ultraviolet light is harmful to spirits. Theory 3. A spirit needs a capacitor to exist in a space. Theory 4. Colored light affects spirits in the same way it affects the living.
These theories are my starting point for my research.
This page will continue to grow so keep checking back!
Theory 1. is proved by theory 2. so we are going to go out of order. I came to the conclusion that Ultraviolet light was harmful to spirits in 2003 when I started ghost hunting and noticed most teams on tv would not use full spectrum (UV light) ,even though this was the better night vision. To further this Barry Fitzgerald from Ghosthunters international said this as well in An interview the same year. years later myself and Barry talked about this all on season 1. episode 8 of Tales From A Ghosthunter the podcast, found wherever you listen to podcasts. You can also find my article In the Paranormal Investigators Almanac released 2025 where I break this down. First let's review a few things about Ultraviolet light (uv), this is what gives you a tan and is used for night vision. There are 3 types of UV light; UVA, UVB, and UVC. We primarily deal with UVB light as it's the only one with a wavelength that reaches us and is what you find in your common blacklight. why do I feel this is harmful to spirits? I have been using blacklight as well as red, blue, and green lights since 2005. I had a theory and was dead set on looking further into it. Upon working with these lights I noticed blacklight had an odd effect on the pressure you feel in the air as well as the activity. While making the air feel thick it also seemed to make activity dissipate at an alarming rate once we shut it off. I will admit I spent a lot of years thinking this was enough to prove my theory and left it at that, however once I started digging into the science of it all is where it gets interesting.
In the Paranormal world we revolve around Electro - magnetic fields, (EMF). almost every device is on the Electro - Magnetic spectrum and we rarely shy away from it in creation to new devices. looking in to the chemical reactions of UVB and EMF I realized there was a fascinating process called ionization. Specifically the process caused when EMF is exposed to UVB light is called deionization. Now the reason we all use electro - magnetic devices in the field is because they have been shown to be the best for interactions with the other side, as I state above theory 1 is spirits are made of EM fields, theory 2 states that UVB is harmful to these EM fields, and science shows that it is because we are deionizing the spirit and essentially pulling the batteries. This explains why activity always stopped so quickly after use of a blacklight during investigations. but I didn't want to stop there, A spirit being an EM field can be proven further when adapting it to other aspects of the paranormal field. when you apply this to a residual haunting or a haunted item we have to ask how does a spirit sustain itself? in science a free floating EM field is an impossibility, however if we can assume it moves of its own free will we can assume it goes back and forth to something called a capacitor. Oddly enough a capacitor can be made up of almost anything as long as there is a conductive and non conductive material to play there parts in what is essentially a rechargeable battery. welcome to theory 3, a capacitor can be different elements in a building such as limestone, quartz, or any number of other stones naturally found in our older buildings and haunted spaces and can store energy or in this case our spirit so they can recharge. This allows them to continue to exist and is further proven by areas where a haunted location burned down and activity stopped because all possible capacitors were removed from that area. This also supports the haunted items as they all have some conductive and non conductive elements to them. EX: a page from a book can be a capacitor, while maybe only holding the capacity for a few micro Tesla- a unit of small electrical measurement. it has the paper from a tree- nonconductive, and the ink or charcoal that makes the writing on the page - conductive. This is just a small example of the capacitor theory.
Finally we have theory 4, what do I mean about different colored lights? well if you go by stimulation and variety of colored flashlights you can get with a decent output we are looking at green as the most stimulating to the eye, then blue and finally red. Red light actually does not stimulate dilation in your pupil allowing you to light up an area without hindering your night vision. however we see this as the "scary light" because of its correlation to things such as the devil, blood, and scary movies.
